Stoppers for liqueurs and spirits

Torrent Group provides its customers with a broad range of non-refillable stoppers for liqueurs and spirits with different safety systems. Counterfeiting and the refilling of liqueurs are common practices in some countries. This generates health problems amongst the population and considerable losses for the sector.

Stopper systems for liqueurs and spirits developed by the Torrent Group

To protect both our customers and the end consumer, we have developed
and incorporated different systems into our stoppers for liqueurs and spirits:

  • Tamper-evidence: Displays if the bottle has been previously opened
  • Double valve: Enables the discharge flow rate and ensures non-refillability
  • Anti-counterfeit: Confirms if the product contained in the bottle is original or not
  • Non-refillable:  These prevent the bottle from being refilled with a lower quality product once it is empty

The NPN Stopper, or Non-refillable Pressure Nozzle (NPN) is the most common closure model for glass bottles in the liqueur and spirits sector. A sector that is highly sensitive to counterfeiting, fraud and sabotage of its products. For this reason, our range in closure products aims to provide complex anti-refillable mechanisms.

The use of non-refillable Torrent stoppers enables the hotel and catering industry to ensure responsible consumption, customer satisfaction, business sustainability and consumer health. For the hotel and catering industry, non-refillable closure solutions provide substantial advantages, which include controlling the amount of liquor poured, reducing waste and splashing, and wasting liquid, among other things. In short, our stoppers offer greater control, benefit, confidence and safety.

Pouring stoppers for liqueurs and spirits

Torrent can recommend different types of pouring stoppers for liqueurs and spirits according to the product to be bottled. Because not all products are chemically compatible with any material. We advise our customers during the selection process as to the pouring stopper that best suits them. Their choice is therefore customized.

We strictly comply with the European regulations for the use of compatible components in contact with food. We also provide technical advice for the manufacturer at the time of bottling.

When choosing pourer stoppers for liqueurs and spirits, the characteristics of the consumer for whom it is intended must also be considered. For example, Torrent Group can offer the same stopper with a different pourer, depending on whether the product is going to be distributed to the hotel and catering industry or the end consumer. The type of material chosen for the pourer and its geometry may vary depending on that use.
